How to delete Facebook account?

How to delete my facebook account permanently?

If you have tried to delete facebook account already, you may be wondering there is only "deactivate" option and not "delete" option.

So what to do?

* First click "account" on top right and select "account settings" in the dropdown menu.

* Then click "Deactivate" at the bottom of the page.

* Then, confirm your deactivation.

* Now, important thing to note is you SHOULD NOT login/ interact with your account in any other way (mobile, apps, plug-ins) for next 14 days.

Many people forget this and login to their account to check whether their account is deleted or not and hence cancelling their deactivation request.

So, better revoke access to/remove all apps before requesting deactivation and DON'T login to your account again.

Personalised Concept based Clustering of Search Engine Queries

Abstract:

The exponential growth of information on the Web has introduced new challenges for building effective search engines. A major problem of web search is that search queries are usually short and ambiguous, and thus are insufficient for specifying the precise user needs. To alleviate this problem, some search engines suggest terms that are semantically related to the submitted queries so that users can choose from the suggestions the ones that reflect their information needs. We introduce an effective approach that captures the user's conceptual preferences in order to provide personalized query suggestions. We achieve this goal with two new strategies. First, we develop online techniques that extract concepts from the web-snippets of the search result returned from a query and use the concepts to identify related queries for that query. Second, we propose a new two-phase personalized agglomerative clustering algorithm that is able to generate personalized query clusters. To evaluate the effectiveness of our technique, a Yahoo middleware was developed for collecting clickthrough data to conduct experimental evaluation. Our approach has better precision and recall than the existing query clustering methods.

Google PageRank

How google orders the results for a search?
It uses PageRank.
It is comprised of about 200 algorithms, which are calculated for every website for every keyword.
Although most of those algorithms are kept secret for preventing from misuse, some of them are known and are common to all search engines.
For example, if your site x has a backlink from another site y, which has high PageRank, it will give more weightage to your site x.
Another one is number of clicks on your website for a particular search.
Note that if you use illegal ways to bring up your PageRank, your website will be permanently removed from search results.
Best way to bring up is to follow Google's guidelines given in Webmaster site.

PageRank is TradeMark of Google.
